Over the last 18 months, my Keen On podcast — featuring conversations with the leading writers like Carol Anderson, Heather McGhee, Niall Ferguson and Sherry Turkle — has become the most popular daily book show on the internet. You can (and should) subscribe to the audio show on Apple podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher et al. And you can also both read and listen to all my interviews on Lithub Radio.
Keen On has, however, become more than just a “podcast” - a term that to me, at least, sounds increasingly archaic. All the daily shows are now video’ed and you can watch and comment on them live on my Twitter and LinkedIn pages, as well as on Lithub’s Facebook Live and YouTube pages.
The live feature only makes sense, of course, if there’s a schedule of upcoming interviews. So what I’m going to try to do is get out the schedule on a weekly basis. Here’s next week’s interviews:
ALL TIMES PACIFIC
Mon 8/30 @ 11.00 am: Julia Battilana, POWER FOR ALL (promising the democratization of power - heard that one before, eh?)
Tues 8/31 @ 10.00 am: Eyal Press, DIRTY WORK (a deeply troubling book about the exploitative nature of labor in our “new” economy)
Tues 8/31 @ 1.30 pm: Johnny C Taylor, RESET (a more optimistic take on the future of work)
Weds 9/1 @ 11.00 am: Mike Duncan, HERO OF TWO WORLDS (acclaimed bio of the Marquis De Lafayette)
Thurs 9/2 @ 10.00 am: Michael Pye, EUROPE’S BABYLON (wonderful new book about the glorious history of Antwerp)
Fri 9/3 @ 11.00 am: Abe Street, BROTHERS ON THREE (on native Americans and basketball)
Enjoy!! And please give me suggestions of future guests and subjects.
