Margaret D. Jacobs on Our Troubled History of Injustice to Indigenous People

In this episode of “Keen On”, Andrew is joined by Margaret D. Jacobs, the author of “After One Hundred Winters: In Search of Reconciliation on America's Stolen Lands”, to confront the harsh truth that the United States was founded on the violent dispossession of Indigenous people and asks what reconciliation might mean in light of this haunted history.

Margaret D. Jacobs is professor of history and director of the Center for Great Plains Studies at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her books include White Mother to a Dark Race: Settler Colonialism, Maternalism, and the Removal of Indigenous Children in the American West and Australia, 1880–1940.
