The End of one Silicon Valley Myth

Have the companies that define our digital lives hit a wall?

Atlantic contributor Brian Merchant believes that Silicon Valley has hit a wall. He’s certainly right that Big Tech legacy companies like Meta (Facebook) and Alphabet (Google) are struggling to reinvent themselves in our post social media, post search engine world. But I suspect that one Silicon Valley myth is now being replaced by another. And new tech companies, like OpenAI, the inventor of the GPT-3 chat bot, will come to dominate our lives even more profoundly in the future.
