The people pushing AI are many of the same people who want Americans to produce children in greater numbers. That is odd to me because AI is supposed to decrease the demand for workers, especially those with a high school diploma or not even that. AI is also supposed to decrease the need for jobs that people with college educations generally do. At the same time, the US will continiue to have legal immigration that adds to the workforce. I am not a mathematician but I see a future with not enought jobs for Americans as well as a decrease in their earnings potential.
With regard to the hours someone works, it is different if someone chooses to work as much as they physically can, whenver they can and someone being required to do so. If they choose to work weekends or afterhours then great. If they prefer to work less hours so they can be involved with family and friends or pursue their personal goals and interests then they should have that option. Of course, their income would reflect their choice.
