AI vendor narratives are often shaped by financial incentives and aspirational projections, making it important to evaluate their promises carefully before accepting them as fact. Don't trust the marketing department's promises.

My own experiences with Perplexity and other LLMs has been fun. They've been able to articulate some things better and explain more deeply that I could have. They're not 'intelligent' (I've got the Gary Marcus mindset about these things), but the interactions do generate results that help engage/inspire my own creativity.

Like a wacky side-kick who keeps me laughing. It's never gonna be my front-door, but it is addictive. I can see why many people will increasingly use them.

But, anyone who relies on any LLM to make life decisions such as their health-related or financial actions, is in training for winning a Darwin Award. Only idiots would.
