Listening to this fellow one is not impressed by his articulacy or story-telling ability. Perhaps his strength was in strategy and leveraging his connections.
One very disappointing aspect of the interview was the soft-pedaling of the evil that has been done in our names. Elwood's various clients, as horrible as they were/are can't hold a candle to our home-grown monsters. In just the years since the start of the GWoT our rulers are responsible for about 4 million dead and 40+ million displaced. Hussein's awful body count is by far the highest of the evil people mentioned, but even that was mostly in connection with the Iran/Iraq war--a conflict encouraged and supplied by our government.
The power and effectiveness of the narrative management that we are subjected to is made dismayingly clear by the fact that someone as intelligent and aware as Keen usually seems to be downplays it with a softball question and a chuckle.
